The Iron Age skeletons on display reveal fascinating details about the everyday lives of the Celts — from illnesses and childhood mortality to signs of malnutrition. Did the Celts often suffer from back pain and arthritis like we do today? Were operations already performed? The bones tell stories about what people looked like, how they lived, and how they died — from a past that is 2,600 years old.

The Bone Lab combines the exhibition of original bone finds from the burial grounds on the Dürrnberg with active research using models. Sort bones, place them in position, and compare them with complete skeletons! Dr Karin explains anthropological research methods in the Bone Lab and in the app.
