About the museum

Life and work of the composer Franz Xaver Gruber

In a wonderful, new atmosphere, the work of the composer of the carol ‘Silent Night’ is presented. The museum is located in the former sacristan and choirmaster’s house, where Franz Xaver Gruber lived and worked for 28 years. The focus is also on the history of the carol’s creation and spread. Dive into the past, experience history, and enjoy the music!

This educational space is entirely dedicated to interaction between visitors and Franz Xaver Gruber. Visitors of all ages can set up his home and literally get a feel for Franz Xaver Gruber. Entertaining games and exciting activities offer an engaging encounter with the composer. The focus is on the shared experience! Visitors can look forward to a shadow theatre, treasure hunt, Gruber game, and a selfie spot.
