As part of the exhibition “War. Trauma. Art. Salzburg and the First World War” (on view until 4 October 2015), the Salzburg Museum invited all schools to participate in its fourth creative competition under the theme “Peace Signs.”

Nine schools, comprising a total of thirteen classes, took part in the competition. The submitted works were evaluated and honored by an expert jury. Entries were judged on a class basis according to the criteria of creativity, concept, and execution of the “signs for peace.” The following prizes were awarded during a special opening ceremony:

Category: New Secondary School

• First Prize: Taxenbach Secondary School, Classes 4a and 4b (joint winners), teacher: Cornelia Kokol

Category: Vocational School

• First Prize: Elisabethinum Higher Institute for Economic Professions (HLW Elisabethinum), Class 2B HL, teachers: Edith Eichenauer and Elisabeth Breitfuß

Category: Grammar School (Gymnasium)

• First Prize: BORG Gastein, Classes 8a and 8b (joint winners), teachers: Christine Kirchgasser and Andreas Prause

A selection of the award-winning student works was on display in the Salzmann Hall until 2 June 2015.
