If you have a disability certificate, you have free admission to all branches of the Salzburg Museum. If needed, a supporting companion can be included free of charge.
Blind and visually impaired people
A Braille guide for blind and visually impaired persons with texts on the permanent exhibition of the Salzburg Museum is available at the ticket office, also a magnifying glass can be borrowed for the museum visit. Guide and partner dogs may be brought into the museum. For visually impaired persons the first and last step of every staircase is clearly marked with yellow strips.
People in wheelchairs
All facilities of the Salzburg Museum in the Neue Residenz are accessible barrier-free for visitors in wheelchairs. A passenger lift with sufficient door width leads to all floors. Parking places for handicapped people with §29b certificate can be found on Mozartplatz and in front of the Panorama Museum on Residenzplatz 9. The bollard on Mozartplatz can be lowered with the Euro-key. There is a toilet for people of disability on the 0 level, accessible by elevator, also in the Café MozART belonging to the museum, accessible barrier-free along the ramp in the inner courtyard.
People with hearing impairment
For people with hearing aids the Neue Residenz avails of an option for connecting the audio guide to the hearing aid (if suitable and switchable) via a loanable induction loop. In this way, even people with impaired hearing can hear the audio guide information very well.
We provide regular guided tours for blind and visually impaired people; please refer to our event programme. On appointment we gladly organise guided tours for groups in simplified language or in sign language.
