ART COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION

The team of the Salzburg Museum’s Art Communication and Education Department consists of staff from different disciplines: art historians and art teachers, historians and archaeologists, also artists and dance teachers. This diversity enables the museum to offer a versatile educational programme with nuanced perspectives and various approaches in method.

“MUSEUM FOR EVERYONE”

Our aspiration is to offer people of every age – regardless of their background and education – a motivating and fascinating encounter with the museum’s objects and the history of Salzburg. Our education programme especially targets young visitors, with the aim of sensitising them to issues about society and cultural history, and to awaken their curiosity.

Programme for school classes

The Salzburg Museum runs a richly varied programme for school classes. The education programmes dealing with the city’s history, archaeology, musical history and contemporary history, and the creative workshops are adapted to suit visitors’ ages and their individual knowledge levels. Schoolchildren with learning difficulties are very welcome and can take part in all activities. You can find a programme overview in German here: (link to folder)

Our education programmes for school classes can also be booked in English by appointment.

Programme for young people

In 2013, a series of events was initiated specially designed for young people aged 14 and over.

@ArtClub is conceived as an easy-going meeting point for creative young people who are interested in art. Once a month, school pupils and students have the opportunity to create things together with experienced artists. Regardless of whether this might be drawing comic strips together, taking photographs, or screen printing – @ArtClub is pre-programmed for enjoyment and fun. And a really cool item – our workshops by young people for young people!  (Dates??)

Programme for adults

The Salzburg Museum team has planned a diverse programme of guided tours, concerts, excursions, artists’ talks, film evenings and workshops to accompany all current exhibitions.

Museum for private groups

Guided tours for private groups are also available for all Salzburg Museum branches and in conjunction with all current exhibitions. Whether birthdays or company events – we are happy to advise!
