The “Textilespace” project was developed for the Salzburg Museum by the Textile.Art.Design department at the University of Art and Design in Linz, with Gilbert Bretterbauer as project manager. Over the last few months, students have been designing a textile space in which six piano pieces can be experienced in a very extraordinary way. The piano pieces were selected by Hannes Eichmann, Markus Hinterhäuser, Nike Wagner and Martin Hochleitner. In addition, visitors can listen to the Salzburg People’sFavourite Musical Piece – ascertained in a poll organised by the museum. Finally, the student Ingrid Maria Hackl has attempted to transform the colours of the “Textilespace” into musical sounds.
The purpose of the overall project is to provide a special museum experience – an interplay of sounds, colours, forms and textile materials.
