“UNESCO World Heritage Salzburg: Who Cares for the City?!” is the title of an exhibition trilogy that presents people and institutions in their respective roles in the preservation and development of Salzburg’s historic old town.
The first exhibition, shown in the Orangery Salzburg, explores the development toward World Heritage status, introduces the key players, and uses selected exhibits to illustrate their tasks, self-image, and perspectives. In doing so, it provides initial answers to the question of who takes care of the city and highlights the close connection between this responsibility and the present and future of Salzburg’s World Heritage.
